Watsons Malaysia Welcomes Dato’ Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi As New Chairman

Watsons Malaysia has named Datuk Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek as its new Non-Executive Chairman, effective from May 1, 2026. The appointment comes as the retailer continues to focus on long-term growth and leadership development in Malaysia.

Dr Fadhlullah brings more than 30 years of experience across healthcare, telecommunications and public policy.

He previously served as Executive Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), where he was involved in regulatory and digital infrastructure development. Additionally, he held senior leadership roles at Telekom Malaysia.

His career has also included work on national transformation initiatives under the Prime Minister’s Office, along with advisory roles for governments overseas. That mix of public and private sector experience is expected to support Watsons Malaysia as it expands its strategic direction in the health and beauty space.

Caryn Loh said the company sees the appointment as part of its commitment to strong governance and sustainable growth. She added that Dr Fadhlullah’s experience across healthcare, regulation and national development will bring valuable insight to the business.

Outside of Watsons Malaysia, Dr Fadhlullah currently sits on several boards across healthcare, education, telecommunications and financial services.

He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors at Perdana University. His academic background includes qualifications in medicine and public health, a master’s degree in health management, and executive programmes at INSEAD and the University of Strathclyde.
