Garmin’s New Approach Z10 Takes The Guesswork Out Of Golf

Garmin Malaysia has unveiled the Approach Z10, a new laser rangefinder aimed at golfers who want quicker, more accurate distance readings without constantly second-guessing club selection.

The compact device measures distances to the pin from up to 350 yards away. It also features six times magnification, helping players get a clearer view of their target before taking a shot. Weighing less than 180g and smaller than most smartphones, it’s designed to be easy to carry while adding another layer of information to a golfer’s game.

What sets the Approach Z10 apart is Garmin’s Range Relay technology. Once a target is ranged, the distance is automatically sent to a compatible Garmin smartwatch, handheld device or the Garmin Golf app.

Players can then see a laser range arc alongside distances to the front and back of the green, giving them a better picture of what’s ahead without relying on estimates.

The Approach Z10 adapts as conditions change on the course. Its PlaysLike Distance feature accounts for elevation changes to deliver more realistic yardages, while synced distances update automatically as players move closer to the target. The result is less time spent checking numbers and more time focusing on the next shot.

Garmin has also added several practical features. Golfers can attach the rangefinder to a golf cart utilising the magnetic mount. On the other hand, the Find My Rangefinder feature helps locate a misplaced device through the Garmin Golf app. For competitive play, Tournament Mode keeps the device within tournament rules and signals this with an external indicator light.

For golfers looking to access more course data, a Garmin Golf membership unlocks features such as Green Contour Data and high-resolution aerial imagery. The additional tools provide insights into green slopes and course layouts across more than 43,000 courses worldwide, helping players plan their approach more effectively.

The Garmin Approach Z10 will be available in Malaysia from June 19, 2026, for RM1,249 through Garmin’s online store, Garmin Brand Stores, MST Golf outlets, selected e-commerce platforms and authorised retailers.
