Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim brushed aside concerns over the upcoming Johor state election, saying his focus remains on governing and delivering for the rakyat rather than political contests.
Asked whether he was worried about the state polls, Anwar said he had no reason to be concerned and was concentrating on his responsibilities as head of government.
“Why should I be worried? I am not worried. I am focused on my work.
“The problem is some of them are not thinking about that. We must focus on our work,” he said.
On whether the election should be held at this juncture, Anwar said the decision rests with the relevant parties.
“It is their decision. We (the government) have a priority to focus on our work,” he said.
