The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for four states, with heavy rain and strong winds expected until 11am today.
The affected areas are Negeri Sembilan, including Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin, as well as the whole of Melaka.
In Johor, the warning covers Tangkak, Muar and Mersing, while in Sarawak it involves Sri Aman.
MetMalaysia said the warning is issued when there are indications of thunderstorms capable of producing rainfall exceeding 20 millimetres per hour that are imminent or expected to persist for more than one hour.
The department added that thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts and are valid for a period not exceeding six hours from the time of issuance.
