Mohd Hisyamuddin Ghazali has been appointed as the new Director-General of Jabatan Komunikasi Komuniti, succeeding Datuk Ismail Yusop who completed his tenure on Sunday after serving more than a year at the helm of the agency.
Chief Secretary to the Government Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said the appointment took effect yesterday.
Prior to his appointment, Mohd Hisyamuddin served as Special Duties Officer to Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
In a Facebook post, Shamsul Azri congratulated Mohd Hisyamuddin on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen government communications.
“May he continue to excel in carrying out this responsibility to further strengthen government communication that is effective and trusted by the people,” he said.
Photos shared by Shamsul Azri showed the appointment being witnessed by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.
He also recorded his appreciation to Ismail for his service and contributions during his time leading J-KOM, expressing hope that he would continue contributing to the nation in whatever capacity he undertakes in the future.
J-KOM is the government’s strategic communications agency tasked with disseminating information on government policies, initiatives and programmes to the public.
