Heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected to batter the Klang Valley and several other parts of the country until 6pm today, according to the latest weather warning issued by MetMalaysia.
The warning covers parts of Selangor, including Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang, as well as Putrajaya.
Several areas in Kedah, Penang, Perak, Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Johor are also expected to experience adverse weather conditions.
In Kedah, the affected districts are Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu, while the whole of Penang is under the warning.
Perak’s Kerian and Larut, Matang dan Selama are on alert, together with Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Kuala Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman in Terengganu.
The warning also covers Raub, Bentong and Kuantan in Pahang; Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah and Jempol in Negeri Sembilan; and Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru in Johor.
In East Malaysia, thunderstorms are forecast in Subis, Miri and Marudi in Sarawak, as well as Beaufort, Tambunan, Beluran and Kota Marudu in Sabah.
Motorists and residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant as heavy downpours may trigger flash floods, strong winds and reduced visibility on roads.
