UOB customers in Singapore are getting a rare chance this September: a private live session with Hong Kong superstar Sammi Cheng. CNA reported that UOB customers in Singapore will soon get the exclusive chance to see Hong Kong superstar Sammi Cheng live in the flesh.
The event, titled An Evening With Mi, will take place on September 6 at the Sands Grand Ballroom and is strictly for UOB customers only, making it more of an intimate fan experience than a public concert.
However, tickets won’t be sold. Instead, eligible customers need to redeem an entry using UNI$, UOB’s loyalty rewards currency. Redemption opens in the first half of August and works on a first-come, first-served basis, so timing will matter if demand is high.
Cheng said she is looking forward to returning to Singapore and reconnecting with fans. She described the event as a way of showing appreciation for their long-standing support and added that she values the opportunity to connect through music.
She is one of the most established names in Cantopop, with a career spanning close to three decades and tens of millions of records sold worldwide. Her industry recognition includes multiple major awards, such as honours from the Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards Presentation and IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Awards.
Outside of music, Cheng has also built a strong acting career since her debut in the 1990s, appearing in both commercial and critically acclaimed films.
Most recently, she won Best Actress at the 2023 Hong Kong Film Awards for Lost Love, where she played a foster mother, further cementing her status as a long-standing figure in Hong Kong entertainment.
