A beauty pageant talent show isn’t something most people expect to see on a cruise holiday, but that’s exactly what unfolded aboard Genting Dream this week.
Guests on the ship were given front-row access to the Mrs Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2026 talent competition, turning an ordinary day at sea into one of the cruise line’s most unique entertainment experiences yet.
Held on June 15, the event brought together 10 finalists from the Mrs Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2026, invited media, industry figures and cruise guests. Contestants took to the stage to showcase their talents and personalities, offering passengers a rare behind-the-scenes look at a national pageant competition in an intimate setting.
More than a traditional beauty contest, Mrs Malaysia Tourism celebrates accomplished married women who champion tourism, culture, community service and personal achievement. The pageant aims to spotlight women who inspire others while promoting Malaysia’s rich heritage and tourism appeal.
The performances were evaluated by a judging panel that included entrepreneur and media personality Christinna Kuan, artistic director Peter Choo, musical director Double Medrano, Datin Ima Manoharan and Genting Dream’s Captain Johan Bohman, bringing together expertise from the worlds of entertainment, culture and tourism.
The collaboration forms part of Dream Cruises’ 10th anniversary celebrations and its ongoing effort to introduce more lifestyle-focused experiences at sea. According to Michael Goh, President of StarDream Cruises, the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to offering guests experiences that go beyond the traditional cruise holiday.
For Datin Christine Mary Lim, organiser of Mrs Malaysia Tourism Pageant 2026 and Miss Malaysia World 1977, the event was also an opportunity to highlight the values behind the pageant.
She described it as a platform that recognises women who embody confidence, wisdom and cultural pride while serving as ambassadors for Malaysia.
The talent showcase joins a growing lineup of special events aboard Genting Dream, including the recently launched Forever Broadway production, the popular Red Carpet Gala and upcoming K-pop celebrations featuring Amotti in July and KIIRAS in October.
