GIIB Holdings Berhad announced that oiutgoing Chairman Dato’ Sri Wan Adnan Bin Wan Mamat has officially handed the Chairmanship back to the Group’s Founder, Mr. Tai Boon Wee, who returns to the helm as Chairman effective immediately.
Tai had previously voluntarily stepped down from his executive and board roles to allow an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to proceed with absolute transparency and without any perception of corporate interference.
Having been completely cleared of all allegations, the Board of Directors collectively agreed that it is the ideal time for the Founder to resume his leadership duties. Concurrently, Dato’ Sri Wan Adnan steps down, content that his objective to stabilise and protect the Group’s corporate governance has been successfully fulfilled.
Commenting on the smooth transition, outgoing Chairman Dato’ Sri Wan Adnan Bin Wan Mamat said: “When I stepped into the role of Chairman, my primary mission was to restore stability, and protect shareholder value while legal processes took their course. Now that the Company has weathered through the turbulent time and regained its footing, it is only right that the leadership of GIIB returns to its Founder and I can focus on my other commitments. I hand back the Chairmanship knowing the Company’s foundation is secure, its governance is intact, and its future is bright.
Tai Boon Wee is the Founder of the Company who led GIIB to its IPO in 2004.
