Selangor Boosting Industries Capabilities With RM209 Million Package

Selangor has unveiled the second phase of its Economic Resilience Strengthening Package worth RM209.26 million, aimed at boosting industry capabilities, supporting businesses and easing cost pressures on households.

A key highlight is the RM100 million Selangor Advance (SA500) programme to improve cash flow for companies and contractors involved in state, district and local council infrastructure projects, benefiting an estimated 500 firms.

The package also includes RM20 million in interest-free financing for 2,000 entrepreneurs, while 6,000 existing HIJRAH borrowers will be eligible for loan restructuring without additional interest or penalties.

To support employment and skills development, Selangor allocated RM4 million for the PLATS Career Transition programme, RM1.5 million for job placement initiatives, RM17 million for scholarships and RM20 million for AI, TVET and professional certification programmes.

The state is also introducing relief measures, including a 30% rental reduction for 21,234 traders at local council premises, housing repayment moratoriums and additional support for working mothers through the Mama Kerja programme.

The package forms part of Selangor’s broader economic support efforts, bringing the combined value of Phase 1 and Phase 2 initiatives to RM355.06 million.
