STI Ends Lower As Decliners Outpace Gainers On SGX

Singapore stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) shedding 20.14 points or 0.39% to finish at 5,192.70.

Market breadth remained negative, with 241 decliners outnumbering 173 gainers, while total trading volume reached 1.39 billion securities worth S$2.86 billion.

Among the blue-chip counters, DBS eased 0.06% to S$65.96, while OCBC Bank ended at S$24.63 and UOB closed at S$39.25. Singtel finished at S$4.35, Singapore Airlines settled at S$7.28, and ST Engineering ended at S$10.83. Shares of Singapore Exchange (SGX) closed at S$23.94.

In the derivatives market, total volume amounted to 525,200 contracts. FTSE China A50 Index Futures for June 2026 recorded the highest trading activity with 39,545 contracts, closing at 15,749.00.

Other key indices tracked by SGX included the iEdge Singapore Next 50 Index, the iEdge S-REIT Index and the iEdge Southeast Asia+ TECH Index.
