The end is officially in sight for Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender. Production on the third and final season has wrapped, marking the conclusion of a years-long journey for the young cast that brought the iconic ‘Gaang’ to life.
A newly released behind-the-scenes photo captures the core team together during their final days on set: Gordon Cormier (Aang), Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Miya Cech (Toph), and Maria Zhang (Suki).
For fans, it’s a glimpse of a group that has grown alongside the series, evolving from newcomers stepping into beloved animated roles to the faces of one of Netflix’s biggest fantasy adaptations.
The production milestone arrives before Season 2 has even premiered. Following the success of the show’s debut season, Netflix greenlit two additional seasons, which were filmed back-to-back to complete the story. That means the cast has already finished the final chapter of Aang’s quest to master all four elements and confront the Fire Nation.
Season 2 is set to introduce a wave of major characters from the original animated series, including Long Feng, King Kuei, Professor Zei, Lady Beifong, Jeong Jeong, Ursa, and Avatar Yangchen. Meanwhile, Season 3 will add fan-favourites Piandao and Hama, further expanding the world as the story moves toward its endgame.
