A significant weather outlook has been issued based on the latest model analyses, with strong westerly wind convergence expected over northern Peninsular Malaysia, northern Sarawak, and western Sabah, including the Federal Territory of Labuan, from June 29 to July 1, 2026.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) says the conditions could support the development of a squall line.
This system may bring prolonged thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds to the affected regions over an extended period, increasing the likelihood of disruptive weather impacts.
Separately, MET Malaysia has issued an alert for strong winds and rough seas affecting several maritime areas, including waters off Phuket, the northern part of the Strait of Malacca, Samui, Condore, Reef North and Layang-Layang. The warning is in effect from June 29 to July 2, 2026.
The public is advised to refer to official updates via MET Malaysia’s website and verified social media channels, and to use the myCuaca mobile application (myCuaca) for the latest information.
