Former Education Minister Faces Five-Cornered Fight For Puteri Wangsa State Seat

Former education minister and Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Dr Maszlee Malik will face a crowded five-cornered contest in his bid to win the Puteri Wangsa state seat in the Johor state election.

He will be challenged by Rashifa Aljunied (MUDA), Teow Chia Ling (Barisan Nasional), Nicholas Paul Vincent (Parti Bersama Malaysia) and independent candidate Wang Wee Siong, confirming a highly competitive race for the constituency.

Returning officer Zulkurnain Abdul Rahman announced the line-up after nominations closed at SMK Bandar Dato’ Onn, after conclusion of the nomination process for the seat.

Puteri Wangsa, which has 128,723 voters comprising 128,525 ordinary voters and 198 police personnel and their spouses, sees a fresh contest after incumbent Amira Aisya Abd Aziz of MUDA opted not to defend the seat in this election.
