BERSAMA Offers 5 Mandate For Johor Voters

BERSAMA, which is contesting 15 seats in the Johor state election, has outlined five service commitments to voters instead of a traditional manifesto, saying its limited scale and early-stage status make it more focused on long-term public service than forming government.

BERSAMA president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli said the coalition acknowledges that its 15-seat contest is insufficient to form a state government and that winning all seats would be difficult given the party is only 44 days old.

“As such, it is more appropriate for BERSAMA to focus on offering service commitments to the people of Johor that go beyond this election, rather than a manifesto as is usual in elections,” he said.

He highlighted that the 15 candidates are offering five core pledges to voters, including serving as a channel for public voice, acting as a constructive Opposition, advocating for affordable housing, pushing for an integrated public transport system and providing oversight on state expenditure and administrative efficiency.

Rafizi explained that the areas identified fall under state government jurisdiction, including housing, property matters, public transport and governance efficiency.

“I hope the service-based approach will be viewed as sincere by voters and will allow it to function effectively as a credible and constructive Opposition in the Johor State Legislative Assembly,” Rafizi said.
