Retail fuel prices across Malaysia will see a 10-sen reduction across the board for the upcoming weekly cycle, driven by a decline in average global crude oil prices over the past week.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Finance announced that the retail price adjustments were calculated in accordance with the established Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula. The new prices will take effect from July 1 to July 8, 2026.
With the 10-sen reduction implemented, the retail prices for non-subsidized fuels for the coming week are as follows:
- RON97 petrol: Decreased to RM4.00 per litre (down from RM4.10).
- RON95 petrol (unsubsidized baseline): Decreased to RM3.37 per litre (down from RM3.47).
- Diesel (unsubsidized market price): Decreased to RM3.97 per litre (down from RM4.07).
The government brought forward this week’s retail fuel price announcement to align the new price cycle directly with the official nationwide rollout of the BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) initiative, which commences tomorrow, July 1, 2026.
Under the BUDI Diesel scheme, eligible Malaysian citizens will be able to purchase subsidized diesel at a fixed rate of RM2.10 per litre by presenting their MyKad for verification at petrol stations nationwide.
