Aaron Taylor-Johnson Unleashes The Beast in ‘Werewulf’ Trailer

There doesn’t need to be a full moon for this creature to arrive.

Focus Features has recently released the trailer for horror film “Werewulf”, created by acclaimed director Robert Eggers.

The logline reads, “In 13th-century England, a mysterious creature stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers.”

You can view the terrifying trailer below:

Starring Aaron-Taylor Johnson as the titular creature of the night, the film bases more on the original folklore of ritual and the terrifying aspects of werewolves. Taylor-Johnson and Lily-Rose Depp reunite with director Robert Eggers for the project after previously working together in “Nosferatu.” Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson are also returning for Egger’s newest horror period piece.

Jack Morris, Jan Bijvoet, Ritchi Edwards and Bodhi Rae Breathnach also star in the film, with Maiden Voyage’s Chris and Eleanor Columbus executive producing. Along with Focus Features, Eggers and Sjón are producing after having previously co-written “The Northman” together in 2022.

Focus Features has partnered on all of Eggers’ films, including the critically acclaimed “Nosferatu,” which released on Christmas Day 2024. Eggers is no newcomer to the horror genre, having previously directed “The Northman” with Alexander Skarsgård and “The Witch” with Anya Taylor-Joy and Ineson. In 2019, he directed “The Lighthouse,” which starred Robert Pattinson and Dafoe.

This horrifying tale will be released December 25th, Christmas day.
