Two familiar names from very different worlds are coming together in a collaboration that blends Malaysian heritage with one of gaming’s most recognisable icons.
Kapten Batik has teamed up with Tetris for a new capsule collection that combines traditional batik motifs with the colourful geometric blocks that have defined the classic puzzle game for decades.
Rather than simply placing Tetris graphics onto existing designs, the collaboration integrates the game’s visual language into Kapten Batik’s signature prints. The collection includes modern-fit and slim-fit batik shirts alongside casual T-shirts, creating a mix of pieces that balance everyday wear with more formal occasions.
The collaboration also extends beyond clothing. A range of lifestyle accessories, including tumblers, lanyards, drawstring bags, phone pouches and Tetrimino-inspired keychains, expands the collection into everyday essentials while maintaining the same design direction.
Designs such as Bloom and Build, Game On!, Tetris City, Urban Wildscape and Nasi Lemak Nostalgia reflect the crossover between local references and digital nostalgia. Instead of treating batik and gaming as separate influences, the collection places them within the same visual language.
Priced between RM50 and RM350, the collection spans apparel and accessories, making it one of the brand’s more extensive collaborative releases to date.
