Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for its new direct service between Kuala Lumpur and Riyadh, marking one of its first long-haul route expansions into Southeast Asia.
The airline began its three-weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Riyadh on July 30, 2026, with bookings now available through its website, mobile app and selected travel partners.
The route will be served by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, part of the carrier’s new long-haul fleet strategy as it builds out its international network. Flights will operate on a thrice-weekly schedule, positioning the service as a direct link between two growing aviation and business hubs.
Beyond passenger travel, the route also strengthens existing economic and cultural ties between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, including trade links, education exchange and pilgrimage travel. It also adds a new option for onward connections via Riyadh to European destinations including the UK and Spain.
On board, Riyadh Air is introducing a four-class configuration across its 787-9 fleet, including Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins. The aircraft features fully flat beds in its premium cabins, upgraded seating in all classes and in-seat connectivity options including Bluetooth audio and USB charging.
Entertainment is powered by Panasonic Avionics’ Astrova system, offering a large content library of films, series and music alongside streaming platforms. The airline is also positioning its onboard experience around wellness-focused service elements and regionally inspired amenities.
The launch also ties into Riyadh Air loyalty programme, Sfeer, which offers members benefits including fare guarantees, onboard Wi-Fi and priority access to new routes for early registrants. The programme is designed as a digital membership platform for frequent and early adopters of the airline’s network.
