Production has wrapped on ONE PIECE Season 3, marking the latest milestone for Netflix’s live-action adaptation as it moves further into its planned long-term story arc.
The announcement was shared alongside a new behind-the-scenes image from the Cape Town set in South Africa, showing the main cast together at the end of filming. The series follows Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, known as the Straw Hat Pirates, as they continue their journey across a vast fictional world inspired by Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga.
With the third season slated for 2027, the wrap confirms the end of filming on a season built around one of the franchise’s most recognised storylines: the Alabasta arc.
This chapter shifts the focus from sea travel to a political conflict on land. The crew arrives in the desert kingdom of Alabasta after agreeing to help Princess Vivi. What begins as a rescue mission escalates into a civil war, with the country destabilised by a hidden criminal organisation led by Sir Crocodile and Baroque Works. The Straw Hats are pulled into a conflict that forces them to choose between survival and loyalty.
The core cast returns, led by Monkey D. Luffy, played by Iñaki Godoy, alongside Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Charithra Chandran also returns as Princess Vivi, a key figure in the season’s central conflict.
New and returning characters tied to the Baroque Works storyline expand the ensemble, adding to a season that continues to scale up its world-building and character network as the series progresses.
Production took place in Cape Town, continuing the show’s use of large international sets to recreate its fictional locations. With filming now complete, the series enters post-production, where visual effects and final edits will shape the season’s final form.
