Singapore has unveiled an ambitious long-term blueprint to transform Sentosa and neighbouring Pulau Brani into an expanded leisure and lifestyle destination, with new attractions and transport links designed to strengthen the city-state’s appeal as a global tourism hub.
Under the Greater Sentosa Master Plan, the government will redevelop the resort island and the adjacent 120-hectare Pulau Brani over the next two decades.
Plans include a sheltered forest canopy walk leading to the summit of Mount Imbiah, enhanced waterfront experiences and a new transport hub connecting the two islands, with some projects expected to open from the early 2030s.
The redevelopment aims to create a more integrated destination featuring nature, recreation, entertainment and lifestyle experiences while improving accessibility across the expanded precinct.
The long-term approach is intended to accommodate future tourism growth and diversify visitor attractions beyond Sentosa’s existing resorts and theme parks.
According to Bloomberg, the master plan forms part of Singapore’s broader strategy to strengthen its competitiveness as an international tourism destination through investments in new visitor experiences and supporting infrastructure.
