The Prada and Gentle Monster eyewear collaboration has moved from teaser to release, following an initial preview last month that hinted at a joint project between Prada and Gentle Monster. The collection is now available in select Asian markets and marks a limited regional rollout rather than a global launch.
The collaboration consists of three eyewear designs built around a shared design approach. Frames combine sharp lens shapes, structured fronts and lightweight titanium temples. Across the collection, the focus stays on construction and proportion, with minimal surface detailing and an emphasis on form.
Rather than expanding into a broad product range, the release is tightly edited. Each design follows the same visual direction, balancing geometric structure with softer curves through lens shape and frame construction.
The campaign features actor and Prada ambassador Kentaro Sakaguchi and is built around a book concept that frames the collection as a sequence of chapters. Each section introduces one of five themes—earth, water, fire, air and love—used as a narrative structure rather than literal storytelling.
Directed by James J. Robinson, the campaign continues both brands’ focus on controlled visual presentation and features a structured narrative built around symbolism and staged environments.
Distribution is also limited, with the collection released only in select markets across Japan, South Korea, mainland China and Hong Kong. This regional rollout reinforces its positioning as a tightly controlled drop rather than a permanent global line.
