PBA Holdings Bhd (PBAHB) has extended the deadline of a memorandum of understanding involving its subsidiary, Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd (PBAPP), Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak and Gamuda Bhd, giving the parties more time to finalise a proposed bulk water supply agreement.
The state water agency said the parties had mutually agreed to extend the non-binding MOU until July 13, 2026, following the expiry of the previous extension on July 3.
The extension PBA added is intended to provide additional time for negotiations and to finalise the terms of the proposed Bulk Water Supply Agreement before it is executed.
The MOU, first announced in November 2025 and subsequently extended in May this year, relates to discussions on securing a bulk water supply arrangement, a key component of long-term efforts to strengthen water security for Penang.
