Nova Technology Executive Director Sandraruben Resigns

Nova Technology Services Bhd announced the resignation of its executive director, Sandraruben Neelamagham, on Friday, ending his tenure on the company’s board.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Nova Technology said Sandraruben, 39, resigned as executive director effective July 3.

The company did not provide a specific reason for his departure but disclosed his professional background, highlighting his experience as managing partner of Messrs Ahmad Deniel, Ruben & Co., a law firm he founded in 2012. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb), a registered trademark agent with MyIPO and a certified company secretary.

Sandraruben currently remains a director of several other listed companies, namely Heitech Padu Bhd, Key Alliance Group Bhd and XOX Technology Bhd.

The resignation comes amid recent public allegations involving Sandraruben.

Earlier in March this year, Rafizi Ramli has alleged that the individual referred to as “Mr R” in statements made by businessman Victor Chin is Sandraruben, whom he described as a lawyer, corporate adviser to NexG Bhd and a director of Heitech Padu.

Rafizi further alleged that Sandraruben acted as an intermediary between what he described as a “corporate mafia” group and parties involved in matters relating to pressure on shareholders.

The allegations have surfaced amid an ongoing public dispute involving corporate governance issues and shareholder interests.

Nova Technology did not make any reference to the allegations or indicate whether they were connected to Sandraruben’s resignation.

As of Friday, there has been no indication from Nova Technology that the resignation is related to the claims made by Rafizi, while Sandraruben has not publicly responded to the allegations contained in Rafizi’s statement.
