Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd has achieved first oil from its wholly owned Teal West field in the United Kingdom (UK) North Sea, marking a key milestone that is expected to lift the group’s production from its UK operations.
The company said the Teal West field, located in Licence P.2535, Block 21/24d, commenced production on July 4 following the completion of development activities announced earlier this year.
Initial production has reached approximately 6,000 barrels of oil per day (bbl/day) as part of a controlled start-up process, placing output within the company’s expected initial production range of between 4,000 and 10,000 bbl/day.
Hibiscus Petroleum said production is expected to increase progressively once stable operating conditions are achieved and optimisation work on the well is completed.
The company noted that Teal West will contribute additional production volumes to its UK business segment while supporting the UK North Sea Transition Authority’s objective of maximising the economic recovery of resources from the UK Continental Shelf.
Hibiscus Petroleum owns a 100% interest in the Teal West field.
The company said further operational updates, including the contribution from the new field, will be provided when it announces its financial results for the first quarter ending August 2026.
