The proposed implementation of the East Coast Expressway Phase 3 (LPT3) through a public-private partnership (PPP) model and efforts to curb the distribution of harmful vape products to youths are set to dominate proceedings in the Dewan Rakyat today.
According to the Order Paper published on Parliament’s official website, Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (PN-Dungun) will ask the Works Minister to explain the government’s main considerations for adopting the PPP model for LPT3, including its impact on toll rates and the project’s implementation timeline.
The Home Minister is also expected to face questions on enforcement against vape syndicates, with Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin (PN-Masjid Tanah) seeking details on stricter measures to tackle the distribution of harmful vape products targeting youths and school students.
Another question directed to the Home Minister comes from P. Prabakaran (PH-Batu), who will seek an update on the government’s plans to ease persistent congestion at the country’s entry points, including measures to accelerate immigration clearance.
Meanwhile, Salamiah Mohd Nor (PN-Temerloh) will ask the Health Minister to assess the effectiveness of digital healthcare initiatives, including MySejahtera and electronic health records, in reducing congestion at government hospitals.
Following Question Time, the Dewan Rakyat will continue with the ministerial winding-up debate on the Motion on the 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM).
The Second Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament is scheduled to sit for 16 days and will conclude on July 16.
