Palm Oil Counters Shine As MPI, F&N Face Selling Pressure

Plantation counters dominated Bursa Malaysia’s top gainers list, led by United Plantations Bhd (UTDPLT), as several palm oil stocks recorded gains during trading.

UTDPLT emerged as the biggest gainer, rising RM0.76 or 2.22% to RM35.02 with 7.27 million shares traded. Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) followed, climbing RM0.28 to RM21.88 after 14.93 million shares changed hands.

SD Guthrie Bhd (SDG) was among the most actively traded gainers, adding RM0.21 to RM6.45 with 171.32 million shares traded. Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd (PMETAL) and Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd (SOP) also advanced, both gaining RM0.15 to RM7.85 and RM5.15 respectively.

Meanwhile, technology-related counters featured among the top decliners, with Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (MPI) leading the losses. MPI fell RM1.70 to RM44.30, with 3.59 million shares traded.

Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) declined RM0.76 to RM28.94, while Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PETDAG) dropped RM0.34 to RM19.22.

Unisem (M) Bhd subsidiary UWC Bhd recorded a loss of RM0.29, closing at RM6.01 with 34.01 million shares traded, while KGB Bhd slipped RM0.26 to RM7.70 after 30.18 million shares changed hands.
