Singapore Economy Grows 5.7% In Q2 As Manufacturing Strengthens

Singapore’s economy expanded 5.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from the revised 6.3% growth recorded in the first quarter, according to advance estimates released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).

Growth was underpinned by a stronger manufacturing sector, which expanded 12.2% in the April to June period, accelerating from an 8% increase in the preceding quarter.

On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, the economy grew 1.1%, extending the 1.3% expansion registered in the first quarter.

MTI said the advance estimates are based mainly on economic data for April and May and serve as an early indication of quarterly economic performance. The figures may be revised when more comprehensive data becomes available.
