Bursa Malaysia bounced back from its losses on July 15 to close higher on July 16, supported by broad-based buying across key sectors.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 8.43 points, or 0.49%, to 1,722.19 from 1,713.76 previously. The benchmark index traded between 1,716.76 and 1,726.75 during the session.
The broader market also ended in positive territory, with the FBM Emas gained 49.49 points, or 0.39%, to 12,699.22, while the F4BGM added 4.05 points to 1,030.37.
The FBM 70 edged up 17.72 points, or 0.1%, to 17,903.50, while the FBM Shariah advanced 18.49 points, or 0.15%, to 12,521.27.
The across-the-board gains pointed to improved investor appetite following the previous session’s pullback.
