Farlim Seeks Federal Court Leave After Losing Appeal In Land Dispute Case

Farlim Group (Malaysia) Bhd will seek leave to appeal to the Federal Court after the Court of Appeal dismissed its appeal in a long-running legal dispute with Ayer Itam Properties Sdn Bhd (AIPSB).

The property developer said the Court of Appeal on July 15 dismissed its appeal and ordered the company to pay costs of RM50,000.

Following the decision, Farlim said it had consulted its legal advisers and resolved to pursue a final appeal by filing an application for leave to the Federal Court.

The company has instructed its solicitors to prepare and file the leave application.

The litigation stems from a claim initiated by AIPSB against Farlim, which the company had previously disclosed in announcements dated April 30, 2019, March 8, 2023 and May 26, 2023.

Farlim said it would continue to evaluate the legal and financial implications of the case while awaiting the outcome of its intended application to the Federal Court.
