New Collaboration Aims To Help Small Businesses Understand Credit Health, Secure Financing

CGC Digital and Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to help Malaysian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) better understand their credit standing and improve their readiness to secure financing.

The partnership aims to combine digital access with credit information capabilities to provide MSMEs with greater awareness of their credit position, while exploring tools and solutions to support financing decisions.

Under the collaboration, both parties will explore the development of credit risk models and analytical solutions to better understand MSME financing needs and strengthen decision-making across the lending ecosystem.

The initiative will also include education and outreach programmes aimed at helping business owners gain access to credit-related information and understand the steps needed to improve their financing eligibility.

CGC Digital chief executive officer Yushida Hussin said many MSMEs face challenges not only in accessing financing but also in understanding their own credit position and the support available to them.

“Many MSMEs struggle not just to access financing, but to understand their own credit position and what support actually fits their business,” she said.

Meanwhile, CBM chief executive officer Soo Chin Kang said the collaboration seeks to strengthen entrepreneurship and contribute towards a more inclusive and resilient Malaysian economy by combining credit analytics capabilities with MSME outreach.
