Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir has congratulated the POLYCC Malaysia contingent for its impressive showing at the 31st FIRA RoboWorld Cup & Summit 2026 in Canada, where the team returned with 14 medals.
The contingent surpassed expectations by winning six gold, five silver and three bronze medals, highlighting Malaysia’s growing capabilities in robotics and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Zambry said the achievement demonstrated that Malaysian talent, particularly in the TVET sector, possesses the skills, expertise and innovation to compete and excel on the international stage.
He described the success as more than just a victory in a robotics competition, saying it reflects the country’s strengthening TVET ecosystem in producing highly skilled, innovative and globally competitive talent.
The minister also congratulated the students, coaches and all parties involved for bringing pride to the nation, urging them to continue striving for excellence and elevating Malaysia’s standing in global robotics competitions.
