OCBC Malaysia has formalised a new guarantee collaboration with Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) for a RM1.3 billion
guarantee facility to expand financing access to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The latest allocation is expected to benefit more than
3,000 SMEs. With the latest RM1.3 billion facility, the Bank will increase its total guarantee coverage to RM5.5 billion.
The collaboration was signed by Mr Chan Kok Leong, Head of Emerging Business, OCBC Malaysia, and Mr Sean Tan, Chief Business Officer of CGC. The signing was witnessed by Mr Tan Chor Sen, Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Malaysia; Tuan Syed Abdull Aziz Syed Kechik, Chief Executive Officer of OCBC Al-Amin; and Encik Mohamed Nazri Omar, President and Chief Executive Officer of CGC
Tan Chor Sen said that the Bank’s collaboration with CGC reflects OCBC Malaysia’s commitment to empowering SMEs in the country. “SMEs are navigating an increasingly dynamic business environment while preparing for future growth opportunities. As their needs evolve, access to the right financial support becomes critical to building resilience, enhancing competitiveness and driving long-term success. Through our collaboration with CGC, we can provide SMEs with greater access to flexible and responsive financing solutions that support businesses at different stages of growth, from emerging entrepreneurs to more established companies. Together, we aim to help SMEs scale with confidence, strengthen their businesses and contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s economic progress.”

The RM1.3 billion financing backed by the guarantee facility is open to OCBC Malaysia’s new and existing customers, particularly within the
Bumiputera community. There is also a scheme to support targeted
