Bursa Malaysia Erases Early Losses As KLCI Climbs Back Above 1,712

Bursa Malaysia recovered from its weak opening to trade almost flat at midday on Tuesday, with buying in selected heavyweights helping the benchmark erase most of its earlier losses.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) slipped just 0.24 point, or 0.01%, to 1,712.85 after falling as much as 6.61 points to 1,706.48 at the opening bell.

The broader market also improved from the morning session, although most key indices remained in negative territory. The FBM Emas Index eased 18.97 points to 12,644.21, the FBM 70 Index fell 66.32 points to 17,903.70, the FTSE4Good Bursa Malaysia Index declined 1.57 points to 1,026.42 and the FBM Shariah Index lost 30.02 points to 12,456.84.

VS Corp emerged as the most actively traded counter, falling one sen to 22 sen with 73.82 million shares changing hands. Zetrix AI slipped half a sen to 68 sen, SNS Network Technology declined one sen to 55 sen, Dagang NeXchange lost two sen to 43 sen, while Tanco Holdings gained half a sen to 25 sen.

Tenaga Nasional led the blue-chip gainers, rising 20 sen to RM14.66, alongside Nestlé Malaysia, which added 48 sen to RM91.78, and Ideal United Bintang, up 25 sen to RM4.00.

Malaysian Pacific Industries remained the biggest loser, extending its decline to RM2.12 at RM43.94. UMS Integration fell 58 sen to RM7.32, while Batu Kawan, Allianz Malaysia and KGB also traded lower.
