Michael Johnston is in early talks to join The Mummy 4, adding a new name to the cast of Universal’s upcoming continuation of the adventure franchise.
The actor, known for roles in Teen Wolf and the recent horror film Obsession, is being considered for a role alongside returning stars Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, who are set to reprise their characters, Rick and Evelyn O’Connell.
As first reported by Variety, Johnston is in discussions to join the project. However, details about his role have not been disclosed. Universal Pictures has not commented on the casting.
His potential addition comes as the film continues to build its ensemble, with Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah already confirmed to return to the franchise.
Story details remain under wraps, but the latest instalment is expected to continue the adventure series that began with 1999’s The Mummy. At this time, the film is confirmed to arrive in cinemas on October 15, 2027.
