The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) recorded 343,836 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)-related job offerings through the MYFutureJobs platform in the first six months of 2026, reflecting strong industry demand for skilled local talent.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ramanan Ramakrishnan said the vacancies, advertised between Jan 1 and June 30, highlight the growing recognition of technical and vocational skills as industries continue to embrace digitalisation and technological transformation.
He said TVET-related positions offered an average monthly salary of RM3,658, with wages in certain sectors rising further depending on experience, location and professional competency certifications.
“The figures show that technical and vocational skills are increasingly valued in the job market. Continuous upskilling and professional certification can also unlock better-paying career opportunities,” he said in a statement.
The vacancies span strategic sectors including manufacturing, automation, engineering, maintenance, electrical and electronics (E&E), information and communications technology (ICT), construction, automotive, semiconductors and machine operations.
Ramanan said the wide range of opportunities demonstrates that TVET graduates are well-positioned to pursue careers across high-impact industries that continue to drive Malaysia’s economic growth.
MYFutureJobs, managed by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), helps match job seekers with vacancies based on their skills, qualifications, interests and preferred locations, while also providing salary information, employer requirements and access to career programmes.
To further improve graduate employability, the ministry said PERKESO will expand MYFutureJobs outreach through career programmes at training institutes, polytechnics, universities and Department of Manpower (JTM) campuses, including career carnivals at ADTEC JTM and Politeknik Sabak Bernam that will connect students directly with employers before they complete their studies.
