Shares of ViTrox Corporation Bhd surged 10.9% to RM8.87 as at 11.14am, following the company’s strong second quarter earnings performance driven by rising global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and semiconductor solutions.
The technology counter opened at RM8.50 and climbed to an intraday high of RM9.20, with 73.0 million shares traded. The latest gain lifted ViTrox’s share price above its previous close of RM8.00.
Investor sentiment improved after ViTrox reported that its second quarter profit after tax jumped 203.9% year-on-year to RM84.5 million, compared with RM27.8 million previously.
Revenue for the quarter more than doubled, rising 104.8% or RM191.9 million to RM374.9 million, supported by strong AI infrastructure demand, higher adoption of advanced packaging solutions and increasing demand for high-precision inspection systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.
The company said its focus on AI accelerators, high-bandwidth memory (HBM) applications and global supply chain restructuring has strengthened customer engagement across key markets including automotive and consumer electronics.
Profit before tax also increased 163.7% to RM99.9 million, driven by manufacturing scale improvements, a favourable product mix and continued benefits from income tax incentives enjoyed by its subsidiary ViTrox Technologies Sdn Bhd.
The strong quarterly performance has also drawn positive attention from analysts, with several research houses upgrading their outlook on ViTrox and citing AI-driven growth, capacity expansion and improving pricing power as key catalysts for future earnings.
