Aldrich Resources Berhad has received regulatory approval for its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Proficient Premium Sdn. Bhd. (PPSB), to conduct an online moneylending business.
The company said the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHLG) granted the approval through a letter dated July 29, 2026.
The approval allows PPSB to operate an online moneylending business under its existing moneylending licence in accordance with the Moneylenders Act 1951.
The move expands Aldrich’s business portfolio into the financial services sector, positioning the group to tap into the growing demand for digital lending solutions among consumers and businesses as Malaysia’s fintech ecosystem continues to evolve.
Despite the strategic significance of the approval, Aldrich said it is not expected to have a material financial impact on the group for the financial year ending June 30, 2027.
