The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has marginally reduced its shareholding in Public Bank Berhad after disposing of a net 9.19 million shares through portfolio managers.
Public Bank said EPF disposed of 8.34 million shares held under Citigroup Nominees (Tempatan) Sdn Bhd for AM Investment Management and one million shares managed by PHEIM Asset Management on July 30.
The retirement fund also acquired 150,000 shares through Citigroup Nominees under ARIM on the same day.
Following the changes, EPF’s direct interest in Public Bank stood at 3.175 billion shares, representing 16.35% of the banking group’s issued share capital.
The latest adjustment reflects a net disposal of approximately 9.19 million shares, although EPF remains Public Bank’s largest substantial shareholder.
The notice of the change was dated July 31 and was received by Public Bank on Aug 4.
Public Bank shares are trading at 5.28 as of August 4 2026.
