GFM Services Berhad has secured an additional RM83.1 million in release orders for major turnaround works at the Pengerang Integrated Complex (PIC) in Johor, strengthening its order book for the refinery and petrochemical hub’s first major maintenance cycle.
The latest contracts comprise RM16.3 million awarded to GFM’s wholly owned subsidiary, Highbase Strategic Sdn Bhd, by PETRONAS Chemicals Isononanol Sdn Bhd (PCINA), and RM66.8 million secured by its 60%-owned indirect subsidiary, Shapadu CR Asia Sdn Bhd (SCRA), from Pengerang Refining Company Sdn Bhd (PRC).
The release orders were awarded under the Group’s existing Integrated Turnaround Main Mechanical and Maintenance Mechanical Static (TA4MS) contract, with works scheduled to commence in 2027.
The new awards bring the total value of turnaround work packages secured by GFM for the upcoming PIC maintenance cycle to RM231.3 million, following the RM148.2 million in release orders announced on 10 July 2026.
The Pengerang Integrated Complex, which began operations in 2019, is preparing for its first major turnaround programme. The exercise will involve extensive maintenance, inspection and equipment replacement works across the integrated downstream facility to ensure the continued reliability, safety and operational efficiency of the complex.
According to GFM, the latest work packages expand the scope of works previously secured and increase the manpower requirements for the turnaround programme, underscoring the scale of the maintenance exercise.
The Group expects the additional release orders to contribute positively to its earnings for the financial year ending 31 December 2027.
