Singapore Stocks Open Lower As STI Slips 0.33%

Singapore shares opened lower on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) falling 18.51 points, or 0.33%, to 5,593.74 as declines in several major counters weighed on the benchmark.

As at 9:09am, 134 stocks were higher while 78 declined. Trading volume stood at 100.15 million shares, with turnover reaching S$240.12 million.

Among key index counters, DBS fell 0.62, or 0.83%, to S$73.88. OCBC Bank was at S$28.67 while UOB traded at S$43.20.

Singtel was at S$4.42, while Singapore Exchange (SGX) traded at S$24.07. YZJ Shipbldg was at S$3.92 and AEM was at S$8.79.

The iEdge Singapore Next 50 Index stood at 1,539.60, while the iEdge S-REIT Index was at 1,065.90.

In derivatives, today’s volume stood at 14,150 contracts as of 8:55 am. FTSE China A50 Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 14,752.00 while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for September 2026 traded at 65,875.00.

SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 3,869.25, while MSCI Singapore Index Futures for August 2026 was at 520.70.

Meanwhile, USD/SGD Futures for August 2026 stood at 1.2816 while USD/CNH Futures for September 2026 traded at 6.7299.

The market opened as SGX continues to highlight upcoming Mainboard listings, including All-Link Air & Sea, Ambiq and EGP Energy.
