Luxury yachts are increasingly moving beyond traditional cruising, with new models focusing on speed, technology and adaptable design. The latest example comes from Sunreef Yachts and BRABUS, which have introduced the BRABUS ULTIMA 55, a 55-foot catamaran that combines high-performance engineering with BRABUS design elements.
The BRABUS ULTIMA 55 is the first model from the two companies’ collaboration. Measuring 55.8 feet (17 metres) in length, the yacht is powered by twin 533 kW / 725 hp six-cylinder engines and can reach speeds of more than 40 knots.
Performance is supported by an advanced foiling system designed to reduce drag and improve stability in the water. The system works alongside the multihull platform, which provides greater space and balance compared with traditional monohull yachts.
The yacht features a carbon-fibre exterior developed around BRABUS’ design language, while the interior includes a BRABUS Masterpiece leather finish. The layout is designed for flexibility, with configurable aft and bow deck areas and accommodation options for up to six guests.
The BRABUS ULTIMA 55 measures 18.4 feet (5.6 metres) in beam, giving it the additional width associated with catamaran designs while maintaining a focus on performance. Its design combines the stability and space of a multihull with handling characteristics typically associated with faster yachts.
As the first product from the Sunreef Yachts and BRABUS partnership, the BRABUS ULTIMA 55 highlights the growing overlap between performance engineering and luxury yacht design, where speed, technology and customisation increasingly shape new vessels.
