Singapore Shares Open Higher, STI Gains 0.16%

Singapore shares opened slightly higher on Friday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) gaining 8.91 points or 0.16% to 5,647.90 as investors assessed regional market conditions.

As of 9.09am, 79 counters advanced while 122 declined. Trading volume stood at 96.59 million shares with total value reaching S$408.32 million.

Among major counters, DBS rose 33 cents or 0.44% to S$75.41, while OCBC was unchanged at S$30.00. UOB traded at S$43.09, while YZJ Shipbuilding was at S$4.17.

SGX shares stood at S$24.94, while Singtel gained to S$4.31. Venture was at S$17.18.

In the derivatives market, total volume stood at 12.96 million contracts as of 8.54am.

FTSE China A50 Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 14,934 points, while Nikkei 225 Index Futures for September 2026 were at 65,200 points.

SGX FTSE Taiwan Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 3,841.75 points, while MSCI Singapore Index Futures for August 2026 were at 524.35 points.

Meanwhile, FTSE China H50 Index Futures for August 2026 stood at 16,372.50 points.
