Malaysia will bring together more than 1,000 maritime stakeholders from Malaysia and abroad for Malaysia Maritime Week 2026 (MMW2026), as the country looks to strengthen its position as a regional maritime and logistics hub.
Hosted by the Ministry of Transport in collaboration with Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC) and Malaysia Shipowners’ Association (MASA), the five-day event will take place from Sept 28 to Oct 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Held under the theme “From Ambition to Action: Powering Maritime Excellence”, MMW2026 will focus on turning maritime policies and commitments into action through collaboration, investment, innovation and sustainable development.
The programme will bring together policymakers, regulators, shipping companies, port operators, financial institutions, international organisations, academics and maritime professionals to discuss issues including shipping decarbonisation, energy transition, supply chain resilience, maritime safety and security and talent development.
Among the key sessions are a Strategic Roundtable Forum, Maritime Financing Engagement, Leadership Dialogue and conference tracks covering decarbonisation, ports and logistics, safety and security and education and talent.
The event will also feature an industry exhibition with up to 80 booths, the ALAM Maritime Open Day and the Malaysia Maritime Icon Award.
According to the Ministry of Transport, MMW2026 is expected to be its most comprehensive edition since its introduction in 2014, with satellite programmes planned throughout the week to broaden participation across the maritime ecosystem.
The event is also intended to strengthen international partnerships, promote investment in maritime infrastructure and green shipping, accelerate decarbonisation and support greater maritime innovation and digitalisation across the region.
