Heineken Malaysia Berhad has appointed Datuk Iain John Lo as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Dato’ Sri Idris Jala with effect from Aug 15, 2026.
Lo, 64, will serve as an Independent Non-Executive Chairman, bringing more than three decades of corporate and industry experience, largely gained during his career with Shell.
He served as Country Chairman of Shell Malaysia Limited from 2012 until his retirement in March 2021. During his career with Shell, Lo held various leadership positions spanning exploration and production, gas and downstream operations in Malaysia and overseas.
He also served as Chairman of Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Berhad until its sale in 2016.
Beyond Shell, Lo currently sits on the Board of Guardians of the Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund, where he chairs its Risk Committee. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of RHB Bank Berhad and RHB Investment Bank Berhad, as well as a board member of Sepang International Circuit Sdn Bhd.
His previous directorships include the Singapore Economic Development Board, Shell Refining Company, Sapura Energy Berhad, Digi.com Berhad and CelcomDigi Berhad.
Lo holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
