Maxis Renews CEO Goh Seow Eng Tenure

Maxis Berhad has announced the renewal of the tenure of Goh Seow Eng as its Chief Executive Officer,

Goh, 62, was reappointed as Chief Executive Officer on Aug 13, 2026. He has held the position since Dec 1, 2022, bringing extensive experience across the telecommunications, technology, media and financial services sectors.

Prior to joining Maxis, Goh served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Info Service Plc (AIS) in Thailand. He was also Managing Director of Home Business at Singtel in Singapore, where he oversaw its fibre broadband, pay-TV and fixed-line businesses, as well as customer lifecycle management and marketing communications for its consumer division.

He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Astro Malaysia’s Consumer Group before joining Singtel in 2010.

Goh also has a background in financial services, having held senior positions across corporate and consumer banking at Citibank in London, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Tokyo. He also led credit card marketing at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science, both awarded cum laude by the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

According to Maxis’ latest filing, Goh has a direct interest in 1.0268 million Maxis shares and deemed interests in a further 3.6086 million shares.

Of the deemed interest, 3.6024 million shares are held by CIMB Commerce Trustee Berhad or its nominee under an incentive arrangement linked to his employment agreement with Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Maxis. The shares are subject to vesting conditions and the terms of the agreement.

He is also deemed interested in 6,200 Maxis shares held by his spouse pursuant to Section 59(11)(c) of the Companies Act 2016.
