Nestlé Leads Bursa Decliners As Losers Outnumber Gainers

Selling pressure dominated the stock market movement on Aug 14, with Nestlé (M) Bhd leading the top decliners after falling 80 sen to RM102.70, as market losers outnumbered gainers 619 to 538.

United Plantations Bhd was the second-biggest decliner, shedding 42 sen to RM32.88, followed by Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, which lost 34 sen to RM47.50.

Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd fell 28 sen to RM7.70 on relatively heavy volume of 14.69 million shares, while Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd declined 20 sen to RM31.50.

The broader market remained cautious, with 554 counters unchanged, 1,117 untraded and 29 suspended.

On the upside, Hong Leong Industries Bhd rose 32 sen to RM18, while Ranhill Utilities Bhd advanced 30 sen to RM2.66. Critical Holdings Bhd gained 19 sen to RM2.11, Ideal Capital Bhd added 17 sen to RM3.68 and BLD Plantation Bhd climbed 16 sen to RM15.

Market turnover eased to 3.5 billion units worth RM2.59 billion compared to 3.51 billion units valued at RM3.05 billion on Aug 13.
