Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has officially confirmed the introduction of “Tiket Madani,” offering three-day access passes to the upcoming Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) starting from just RM200 for MyKad holders.
The announcement confirms details leaked earlier this week on ticket listings for the event, which sparked widespread praise and excitement across social media from local motorsport fans.
Prime Minister revealed that the special pricing initiative was made possible following discussions and a mutual agreement with the event organizers in Bahrain.
“With the discussions and mutual agreement with Bahrain, the government is pleased to announce ‘Tiket MADANI’ exclusively for MyKad holders, priced as low as RM200 for three-day access to the event,” Anwar shared. “May this initiative open doors for more Malaysians to personally experience Formula 1 live at Sepang.”
Under the multi-tiered structure, the entry-level Hillstand G pass is priced at RM200, providing a budget-friendly option for local spectators. By contrast, non-Malaysian spectators will pay standard international rates starting at USD 218.90 (approx. RM895) for hillstand access and up to USD 566.05 (approx. RM2,316) for main grandstand seating.
Local fans holding a valid MyKad can choose from six seating and viewing categories:
- Hillstand G (Open Grass Area): RM200.00
- Hillstands B & C (Open Grass Area): RM809.60
- Grandstand F (Covered Seating): RM1,291.40
- Grandstand K1 (Covered Seating): RM1,386.00
- Main Grandstand (Covered Seating): RM2,083.40
Organisers noted that verification processes will be enforced to match MyKad details with discounted tickets, warning that any ticket failing to meet eligibility checks will be invalidated.
News of the affordable RM200 entry price first surfaced online earlier this week after ticket details inadvertently leaked on the Bahrain International Circuit’s booking portal. Netizens immediately took to platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook to cheer the heavily discounted rate, praising the government and event organizers for making a historically expensive global sport accessible to everyday Malaysians.
The surge in interest caused temporary disruptions on the official ticketing site due to high traffic volumes. Further operational details and domestic purchasing channels for the Tiket Madani passes are expected to be released shortly by the Sepang International Circuit management.
