Engineering and solutions provider Destini Berhad has announced the appointment of Dato’ Seri DiRaja Syed Razlan Ibni Syed Putra as its new Independent and Non-Executive Chairman, effective August 14, 2026.
The 75-year-old corporate figure brings extensive leadership experience across academia, corporate management, and agricultural development.
Dato’ Seri DiRaja Syed Razlan began his career in academia, serving as a tutor at Agriculture College Malaysia in 1972 before taking on a role as a lecturer at Universiti Pertanian Malaysia from 1976 to 1979.
He subsequently transitioned into senior management and leadership roles across diverse sectors, holding key positions in organisations.
He currently holds executive chairmanship positions at several companies, including Lax Matrix Sdn. Bhd. (since 2013), Lax Global Sdn. Bhd. (since 2014), e-Agro Sdn. Bhd. (since 2021), and Brian Resources Sdn. Bhd. (since 2024). Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Glide Group of Companies and D’Mart Segi Fresh Sdn. Bhd., acts as a Technical and Strategic Advisor to Green World Genetics Sdn. Bhd., and holds directorships at Dagang Sejahtera Sdn. Bhd. and Sirage Group Sdn. Bhd.
Dato’ Seri DiRaja Syed Razlan holds a strong academic background in agriculture and animal science: Master’s Degree in Animal Science (Ruminant Nutrition): North Carolina State University (NCSU), Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science: Louisiana State University (LSU) and Professional Qualification in Technology Transfer: University of the Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB)
Destini Berhad noted that Dato’ Seri DiRaja Syed Razlan holds no directorships in other public listed issuers. The filing also highlighted that YM Dato’ Syed Haizam Hishamuddin Putra Jamalullail is his nephew.
