Johan Setia in Selangor recorded an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 151 as of 9.13am today, according to the latest data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS).
The reading places Johan Setia within the unhealthy category under Malaysia’s API classification, which covers readings between 101 and 200.
The latest dashboard reading, recorded at 9.13am, showed the air quality in the area had deteriorated from an earlier reading of 150 at 6am.
Meanwhile, IPD Serian in Sarawak, which previously recorded an unhealthy reading of 121, had improved to a moderate reading of 96 and is therefore no longer in the unhealthy category.
Under the APIMS classification, readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy and readings above 300 hazardous.
The API is updated hourly based on readings from air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
